Ok, I understand record number can be limited by the 32-bit pointer, approx 4.2E9. I think I recall seeing that SQL Server 2005 has a row width limit of 8K.
Where does the width limit derive from? And since I have your attention, I read how message digest/hash can be used to verify the integrity of a database, but are they ever used for each individual record?
